The Move to tri.x – Initial Communication for Frontline Practitioners
The web link for West Midlands Regional Safeguarding Children Procedures website will change in early 2025. We are working closely with the new provider (Tri.x) to ensure that the new website includes information from our current procedures that are specific to the West Midlands and that all procedures are compliant with Working Together 2023.
The changes will affect practitioners working in the following local authority areas: Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Herefordshire, Sandwell, Shropshire, Solihull, Stoke on Trent, Telford and Wrekin, Walsall, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire. If you are a practitioner working in one of these areas, you will need to access procedures via a new link which will be shared with you in due course.
It is very important that all partner agencies take a co-ordinated approach to raising awareness of the change within their organisations. It should be noted that existing shortcuts to the outgoing platform which have been set up on desktops or mobile phones will need to be changed. In addition, arrangements will need to be made to change links currently hosted on staff intranets and other websites. You will receive communication in due course with clear dates for go-live as well as a link to the new procedures site.

The SSCP Website – People’s Stories
As we continue to improve the SSCP website, we’ve seen that the “People’s Stories” page has not been updated in some time. If you have a story that you feel would be appropriate to share on the site, then please let us know at sscpbusinessunit@shropshire.gov.uk – please put “People’s Stories” in the subject header and we can add this quickly to share these stories across the Partnership.

Understanding Right-Wing Extremist Narratives
A FREE training session will be held on Monday 27th January 2025 @3-5pm via Microsoft teams
In partnership with the DFE, Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire are hosting this FREE online training session “Extreme Right Wing Counter Terrorism Local Profile”, delivered by the DFE regional Prevent lead Sheri Alamgir.
“We know that both the arrest data and Prevent referral date highlights that the age of individuals being radicalised is getting younger and given some of the recent events locally, nationally and internationally it is more important than ever that we are all vigilant and aware of the narrative used by extremists to groom young people and be confident in reporting these.”
This online training session will be delivered by Sheri Alamgir, DFE Regional Prevent Education Co-ordinator for the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and West Mercia. The training session provides delegates with knowledge that will support them in fulfilling their role within the Prevent Duty and links with our counter terrorism local profile.
Please email cpdschool.improvement@telford.gov.uk to book a place on this training session, please provide your name, role and email address in order for the link for this session to be shared with you.

Parenting Team – Solihull Approach Training Offer
The Solihull Approach model combines three theoretical concepts, containment (psychoanalytic theory), reciprocity (child development) and behaviour management (behaviourism). It provides a framework for thinking for a wide range of professionals working with families with babies, children and young people. This evidence-based approach can be used in one-to-one interventions and group work. It can be helpful as an early intervention model and is also used in preventative work or where difficulties are already present.
